ABOUT
I am a psychologist with a passion for supporting people in difficult moments in life. My goal is to create a space full of understanding and acceptance where everyone can find a path to better well-being.
I have always been fascinated by people watching. Even as a child, and later as a teenager, while riding trains, I watched other travelers, wondering where they were going, what their stories were, observing their behavior and emotional states. This interest and curiosity about the people around me and their relationships largely influenced my subsequent choice of the field of my studies.
In 2013, I completed a 5-year long master’s degree in psychology, specializing in development support. (Kazimierz Wielki University, Bydgoszcz, Poland).
During my studies, I became even more fascinated with the topic of mental health and emotional support for children, adolescents and adults.
The professional internships I had the opportunity to make a huge impression on me, including: take place in a psychiatric hospital or in a psychological and pedagogical clinic.
I gained my first professional experience in a center for people involved in violence, initially as a volunteer, then as a co-leader of sociotherapeutic groups for children and adolescents, and as a therapist co-leader of a therapeutic group for women, and finally began conducting individual therapy for children, adolescents and adults.
PAULINA KOCIŃSKA
An important place in my professional history was a care home for people with mental disorders. For 4 years there, I had the opportunity to conduct individual and group therapies, including: with people with depression, schizophrenia, personality disorders, and addicts.
I gained experience in working with children and adolescents by working as a psychologist in an orphanage.
Additionally, I was a member of the district disability assessment team.
While still a student, I completed a study on counteracting domestic violence.
I also have experience in working with older people. I conducted psychoeducational workshops, individual and group classes at the Senior Vigor home.
I have been running my own psychology practice for several years.
My work is subject to regular, monthly supervision.
The main goal of my work with patients is to improve the patient’s quality of life. People who, for various reasons, experience internal suffering often come to me. My task is to accompany my patients in overcoming various difficulties and problems.
I try to find resources and potential in each person that can give them strength to overcome life’s crisis.
When I work with adults, I am close to the approach of psychodynamic therapy, in which building a safe therapeutic relationship between the patient and the therapist plays a huge role.
I also base my work with children and young people on building trust and an atmosphere of mutual sympathy and empathy.
Each of my patients is unique to me and I approach them individually.
